Carpenter wanted to make a sequel, The Thing II, but finally… no. Some script projects are emerging on the surface of the web sometime, but nothing is confirmed yet.

They made some videogame in 2002 on PS2, xbox, PC.

A remake directed by Matthijs van Heijningen would be a prequel possibly following MacReady’s brother leading up to the opening moments of the 1982 film…
